Yeladenu Operation been operating since October 8, 2023, to promote the personal and community resilience of children and teenagers affected by their proximity to conflict lines—in Sderot, the Eshkol Regional Council, and starting from March 2024, also in Kiryat Shmona and Ofakim.
Initially, physical complexes were established in Eilat and the Dead Sea where emotional treatments were provided in collaboration with resilience centers, and a variety of social activities were conducted to strengthen the resilience of children and teenagers. As the evacuated population in the evacuation centers decreases, these complexes are closing, and we are looking forward: to forming a tailored response for the children and teenagers of Kiryat Shmona who are staying in Tiberias and its surroundings, in full cooperation with the local authority.
In the last month, the professional team led by Karen Kamrinsky has started to familiarize themselves with the authorities and the municipal departments of Kiryat Shmona and Tiberias, as well as with existing activities to build a customized plan.
Preparations have begun for establishing the 'HaShachar' resilience complex for our children in Tiberias, which will include rooms for individual treatment and spaces for complementary resilience activities. The complex is expected to open in mid-April 2024.
Simultaneously, we are working to build a social activity plan that enhances resilience for teenagers who do not leave their hotel rooms and/or avoid attending the educational system, as well as to assist with supportive resilience activities in the schools where children of the northern conflict line have integrated.
We will continue to accompany the children and teenagers and care for their welfare and rehabilitation—wherever they may be.
